Awards at Fall 2013 Sectionals

Brothers of Section 102,

For those that don’t know my name is Eric Strickland, I am the Section 101 & 102 Awards Coordinator and will be responsible for coordinating awards this semester at Sectionals. If you won an award last semester you must bring it back and return at the time of registration. Here is a list of awards that can be earned and what a chapter or brother has to do to qualify for one.
Awards that there are specific requirements for:

Gang’s All Here:
For the chapter with the largest percentage of active brothers at Sectionals.

Man Mile: For the chapter that has traveled the most miles to Sectionals. This is calculated by multiplying the number of active brothers and pledges attending by the amount of miles from their school.

Roll Call: For the chapter with the best roll call. Roll Call can be no longer then 3 minutes in length.

Spirit:For the chapter with the most spirit. This is not necessarily being the loudest chapter of the day but has to do with the enthusiasm the chapter shows throughout the day.

Service Boy: This award goes to the chapter that collects the most things for the host chapter’s Service Boy project at Sectionals.

Service Girl: We will be deciding the winner based on your chapters submission of your top 4 service projects since last sectionals. We would like one project for each field of service and we want to know what you did and why you did it/why it was the best project for your chapter. Pictures are always great to include.
Awards we will be accepting nominations/submissions for this year:
Jeff Cantor Leadership Award: Given to a brother who best exemplifies the canrdinal principle of leadership.
Blue & Gold Awards :Given to a male (Blue) and female (Gold) brother who exemplifies the cardinal principle of fellowship

Service Superstar: Given to a brother who best exemplifies the cardinal principle of service

PLEASE SUBMIT ANY NOMINATIONS/SUBMISSIONS FOR BLUE, GOLD, JEFF CANTOR LEADERSHIP OR SERVICE SUPERSTAR AWARDS BY FRIDAY NOVEMBER 1 AT 11:59 P.M. VIA EMAIL TO APO.ESTRICKLAND@GMAIL.COM
Nominations forms were sent to all the chapter presidents. If you need one feel free to email me and I will send you them personally.
Also sent to the chapter presidents is a draft of a proposed Section 102 Awards Policy. This policy would add the following two 102 specific awards, Outstanding Section 102 Alumni Volunteer Award and the Section 102 Distinguished Service Key. It also includes how the awards are determined and awarded. This policy would be voted on at the Section 102 business meeting and go into effect immediately following the fall conference if approved.
Any questions on anything you can either email myself or your Section Chair Mike Varano at section.102.chair@apo.org
